The Queensland Titles Registry was, until 18 June 2021, part of the Department of Resources. After that date, Queensland Titles Registry Pty Ltd (Titles Queensland) became the operator of the Titles Registry pursuant to the Queensland Future Fund (Titles Registry) Act 2021 and now maintains land registers on behalf of the State of Queensland with the powers of the Registrar of Titles delegated to Titles Queensland.
Our primary role is administrative and depends upon the lodgement of the necessary documentation in the Titles Registry to record real property transactions. When all legislative and practice requirements have been satisfied, the interest is registered. The register is updated by including the details of the transactions and guarantees title under the Land Title Act 1994, which is our primary governing legalisation.
